An eye-catching espresso-maker enamelled in pink dominates the counter. In the background, you can see hundreds of postcards sent in by satisfied customers the world over.

Menu detail, New Piccadilly café
A close up of a rather well worn memu which includes egg, bacon and chips for £4.50, sausages and mash, £4.50 and cod and chips with peas or baked beans for a fiver.
Today's specials included cheese and spinach canelloni for £4.50 with the desert menu offering up a tempting selection of peach melbas, banana splits and apple and custard, all for £1.75 each.
And if you fancy a cup of tea with your meal, it'll set you back just 50p - and I can personally couch for the excellent quality of their Rosie Lee!
Back room area, New Piccadilly café
There's a small back room area in the cafe, with a delightfully ancient lampshade. The walls are covered in theatre posters.
The bill, New Piccadilly café
Even the design of bill seems unchanged since the 1950s!
