Country walks and colds
On Jan 2nd, a hardy selection of the urban75 Walk Club managed to haul their hungover arses out of bed early enough to meet up at London’s Marylebone station to catch a train out to Princes Risborough, Buckinghamshire.
The seven-mile walk took us up several hills, past the security-camera-swivelling fields around Chequers and eventually on to the pretty market town of Wendover.

Other news is that urban75 was mentioned in the Observer on Sunday: 7/7 survivors find comfort on the net
“The community website urban75 was posting news of the day from witnesses faster than the mainstream media. Its message board received an entry that night from a sleepless Rachel North, who had been standing 8ft from the bomber in the train’s first carriage and was hurled to the floor, temporarily blinded and deafened.”
Oh, and probably of very little interest to anyone, I’ve also added some new archive photos to my Monmouth Troy railway station archive, showing the long abandoned station in happier days…
On a more mundane note, my festive excesses have left me with a stinking cold so I’ll be off to bed early tonight. Bah!
