I enjoyed a fabulous time in Bristol over the weekend, starting with a gig with The Monochrome Set at the splendid Thunderbolt venue, and then dancing to 60s garage music at the Elmer’s Arms in Old Market Street.
This is the third time I’ve played the Thunderbolt with the Monochrome Set.
Although it’s one of the more intimate venues we play, there’s always a great crowd and lively atmosphere.
After the gig, we repaired to Elmer’s Arms on Old Market Street.
It’s a tiny bar with a low roof, and the dancefloor was rocking with energy and enthusiasm for the selection of 60s, garage, punk and go-go coming from the DJs.
The DJ decks lurked inside an old piano. All vinyl, natch.
There was a fabulous mix of people in the venue.
