All girl go-go queens, The Actionettes, sent a hugely enthusiastic crowd wild last night at London’s finest gay bar, Duckie.
The club is at the Royal Vauxhall Tavern, south London, and describes themselves as, “authentic London honky-tonk purveyors of progressive working class entertainment.” I’d just call it a great night out.
Ms Amy Lamé, our vivacious host for the evening.
First onstage was Kate Daisy Grant who bashed away at a toy piano and Roland keyboard and sang beautifully.
I really liked her. In fact, I’m pretty sure I invited her to play Offline a year or so ago (*goes off to check inbox).
The fabulous Actionettes onstage.
What is progressive working class entertainment?
It’s a mystery to me too James, but I sure had a good time.
