On a chilly and wet evening last week, I embarked on a bracing walk from Bethnal Green in east London to Warren Street.

Once described as an ‘absolute shithole’ the Dundee Arms at 339 Cambridge Heath Road has transformed into an on-trend drinking den, with exposed brickwork and a wooden panelled bar.
