A while ago, I wrote a piece entitled, “Building and buying an extra small, super-portable drum kit for gigging drummers,” and it proved to be one of the most popular features on the site .
But now I realised I made a serious omission – I failed to mention the Dennis The Menace drum kit!
Seen in the Fleet Street window of Beano publishers D. C. Thomson & Co., the kit is aimed at small children keen to make a big racket .
Retailing at a budget priced £159, the three piece kit features a 12″ x 10″ wood shell bass drum with retractable legs, 8″ x 6″ tom and 8″ x 4″ wood snare drum plus stands, seat, BD pedal and cymbal.
There’s also Dennis The Menace ukuleles and a half size guitar available, but it’s the drum kit that’s got me excited: change around the stands for something a bit more substantial and add some decent cymbals and hi hat and this could be a real fun portable kit.
Oh, and you get a free comic with each kit too…
