We’re happy to tramp quite vast distances in our quest for great cafes and good coffee, and our trek out to the Bedford-Stuyvesant area of Brooklyn was rewarded by excellent beverages and some delicious hot bagels and cakes at the Bedford Hill Coffee Bar.
Recycled interior fittings
Located at 343 Franklin Ave at Greene St, Brooklyn, NY 11238, the décor is calm and relaxing, with salvaged dark wooden doors reused as wall panels, subdued lighting and a rather natty floor pattern.
The bathroom/restroom/comfort room (or whatever it is that Americans call the toilet) was spotless – always a good sign – and Jonathan Richman was quietly playing on the speakers, which is another sign of a quality establishment in my eyes.
Most importantly, the coffee was great, the food tasty and the prices reasonable – and there was free Wi-Fi on tap too, so it’s a good place to get some work done or just fart about on Facebook for hours.
