The large posters promised a festive “Funland” in the heart of Brixton, but there was a pretty austere offering on show at the ‘Bensons Winter Funland’ in Windrush Square tonight.
Slung into a corner of the square, the attraction comprised of just three small rides, a Sizzlers burger bar and a handful of food stalls.
There wasn’t a single person on any of the rides when I was there at 5.30pm, but one of the workers assured me that it was busier earlier.
A nice seat by the burger bar.
Empty ride.
Tate Library in the background.
A last look across Windrush Square.
Thanks for posting this. Why do we need to have such a naff entertainment in the middle of the town before Christmas is beyond me. One spends millions on smart and modern landscaping and then they put ghastly banners in front of the town hall and allow this useless thing to land in the middle of the square.
