Yesterday, Brixton rocked to a huge Splash party, with Coldharbour Lane, Windrush Square and Atlantic Road packed with people enjoying the sunshine.

Check out the Jamaican bike!
The cops had engaged ‘chummy community mode’ yesterday. Or at least they tried.
The festival coincided with Jamaica’s 50th anniversary of independence.

Huge soundsystem outside the Satay Bar. The bass was so hefty that my trousers literally flapped as I walk past!
Coldharbour Lane was rammed. Can you see yourself in the pic?!

After party at a busy Brixton Sports club. After the PA was turned off, the party moved across the road to dance along to a loud car sound system.
After the cops closed down the car sound system, a smaller breakaway party started up around another car!
I loved Brixton Splash this year. It was the busiest I’ve ever known it, and after the heavy showers of the morning, the weather turned out great – and the day was rounded of nicely with Usain Bolt’s stunning Olympic victory.
