One of the best things about living in Brixton is that there’s always something interesting going on, or a scene to catch the eye – like this fabulously named van seen on Atlantic Road.
Here’s a series of snaps around town taken yesterday on my HTC Desire mobile phone:
Mr Biggs Emporium, Atlantic Road, where you can find a DIY store, barber chairs for hire, a unisex hair salon, money transfer facilities and much, much more.
Wooden railings outside the Adventure Playground on Railton Road, which has yet to reopen.
Graffiti truck, Somerleyton Road. The owners long gave up the battle and these paint covered trucks have been a feature on the Brixton landscape for years.
The Windrush Square puddle, sorry, fountain.
Maggi Hambling’s heron sculpture. It’s not easy to spot: go to the corner of Coldharbour Lane and Brixton Road, stand outside the Ritzy and you’ll see it perched on top of the Prince of Wales pub.
Jam session at the Grosvenor pub, Stockwell. At its peak, there was something like 20 musicians jauntily thundering along on an assortment of banjos, fiddles, guitars, mandolins – and a tuba. And a right lovely racket they made too.
love it!!!! RASTA IT UP TO THE MAX
