BrixtonBuzz listings now available in the Lambeth Weekender newspaper -

A while ago, I teamed up with like-minded Brixtonite, Rich, to create what we wanted to be the best Brixton listings service on the planet, naming it BrixtonBuzz.

We were spurred on by the fact that most Brixton-related listings in mainstreams mags and websites only seemed interested in covering nu-Brixton events, like groovy Villaaage shindigs, pop-up whatevers and the enormo gigs at the Academy.

Much as we like to see a rich diversity of things going on around Brixton, we felt that smaller venues and promoters weren’t getting much of a look in – and that didn’t seem fair.

So we tasked ourselves with coming up with a free site that made a point of promoting the smaller venues too, and so far it’s been a roaring success, with a growing list of events covered and traffic rising month on month.

I’m now delighted to announce that from this week, we’ll be contributing two, carefully curated pages of listings to the local newspaper, Lambeth Weekender, a free fortnightly newspaper covering Lambeth and Southwark, produced by independent publishers Southwark Newspaper Ltd.

We also hope to have more exciting news about BrixtonBuzz coming up over the summer, so stay tuned! 🙂

Oh, and a big ‘thank you’ has to go to Rich, who has done a magnificent job of keeping the Brixton listings up to date. Nice one, mate!
