I’ve been along to some cafe launches before, but there’s no doubting that the launch for The Shed in Fulham last night was the liveliest of the lot.
By the time we arrived, the small cafe was absolutely rammed, with a mixed and friendly bunch of folks happily slurping down the free booze, while a cheery DJ played cheery house music.
Reasonably priced
Situated a short walk from Fulham Broadway, the cupcake-toting coffee shop is the brainchild of model/actress Danielle Brown (sister of MelB) who hopes to create an “interesting and affordable” cafe for the area.
With OK Magazine, perambulating celebrities, pouting wannabes, locals, sundry ‘ordinary’ folks and a film crew all packed into the shop it was certainly an interesting experience, while the tea and coffee prices displayed on the blackboard seemed to back up the affordable claim.
Mind you, it’s impossible to judge any cafe on a frantic launch party, so I’ll have to pop in again to check out the coffee/cupcake action properly and give my verdict.
That said, it’s not an area I particularly frequent, so if any of you get to pay the cafe a visit, please post up your experiences here and tell us what you thought.
Celebs! OMG!
I’m really not that interested in the schleb malarkey at all, so I can’t really comment on who the paps waiting outside were getting excited about, but I did recognise an enthusiastically shouty Kerry Katona and Peter Andre inside. I guess I’ll have to read OK Magazine to find out who the rest were.
Or maybe not.
The Shed can be found at 59 Walham Grove, Fulham SW6 1QR [Map location]

A look at the cafe’s Twitter feed explains that these (ahem) ‘celebs’ were also in attendance: Harry Derbidge and Amy Childs (“The Only Way Is Essex”), some bloke from ‘Damage’, Liz Cundy (“TV Presenter, model and mum”), a footballer called Tom Williams and Frank Lampard’s ex Elen Rivas.
I still don’t actually know who most of those people are though.
