Taking shelter from the chilly seaside winter wind, we stopped off at the Greedy Cow Cafe in Margate for a restorative snack – and very much liked what we found.
Situated in the heart of the Old Town, the cafe offers a full range of breakfasts, sandwiches, burgers and home made soups, but we went for a warming coffee and an especially delicious home-baked caramel slice.
The cafe has two floors, with the main dining area above the downstairs counter. There’s also some seats outside.
The steps up to the first floor dining area are steep and rickety, so perhaps best not advised if you’ve just enjoyed a prolonged cider session in the nearby Lifeboat Inn.
If you managed to bag the window seat, there’s a great view to be had.
This ‘treasure trail’ map cost 2p a draw and raised funds of the Dunkirk Veterans Association.
It really is a little gem of a cafe, serving high quality wholesome, home made food and it’s one I can definitely recommend if you’re ever in Margate.
