Situated a short walk from Brighton’s lofty railway station is Coffee at 33, a small, friendly coffee shop serving up great caffeine brews and home baked cakes.
It’s a small cafe with very little seating – you’d be hard pressed to get more than 15 people in here – and the interior is plain and simple, with lots of exposed wood
There’s only a few chairs inside, but the main seating area is by the window, where you can relax on a pile of not-entirely comfortable coffee bags: after 30 minutes you’ll be ready to move on.
There’s no in-store wi-fi either, so you can put your shiny iWhatever away and try reading or talking instead.
There’s a great selection of cakes on offer, with the normal and decaf coffee sourced from the excellent London independent Monmouth Coffee Co.
You can buy packs of Monmouth coffee in the shop.
I think it’s fair to say that the frontage is a little understated. You can see the main seating area in the window.
I really liked Coffee at 33: it’s a simple, straightforward, no frills, friendly establishment serving fantastic coffee. Recommended!
