Spurred on by a particularly daft bunfight on the urban75 boards about ‘who makes the best bagels‘, I’ve been wishing I was close enough to pop out and bag myself some of the delicious bagels freshly baked at Daniel’s Bagels, Third Avenue and 37th Street, New York, NYC.
The inside of the store isn’t much to look at – and the coffee wasn’t that great either, come to think of it – but boy, oh boy, the fresh-from-the-oven bagels were utterly delicious.
I’m not sure if they were absolutely the best ever bagels I’ve ever had in NYC, but they were certainly up there with the best, and I’d definitely recommend then if you’re in the ‘hood.
Curiously, their website includes a UK delivery option, but something tells me that the bagels would be a little less than fresh by the time they made it across the Atlantic to downtown Brixton – even if they dusted off Concorde for the journey.
