Located along one side of the Forest Hill to New Cross Gate railway cutting, Devonshire Road Nature Reserve is a delightful place to spend n afternoon.
Listed as a Site of Metropolitan Importance for Nature Conservation, the nature reserve is open for the last Sunday of the month 2pm- 5.30pm.
We went along to their annual Open Day, where we enjoyed tea and cake and listened to our mates, the No Frills band (and friends) play some spirited folk.

Can I also recommend the Garthone Road “Nature Reserve” on the other side of the tracks from this. The council have closed it off to the public (god knows why), but a hop skip and jump over the fence leads you to a nice untouched bit of woodland
