Situated near the top of the Walworth road and adjacent to the artists’ community in IliffeYard is this lovely little cafe and sandwich bar, regaling under the distinctive name of the Electric Elephant.
Serving fresh soup, salads, organic pastries, sandwiches, toasties, fairtrade organic coffee and a ton of tasty cakes, the cafe also doubles up as a gallery showing off work from the nearby Pullens Yards artists.
The bread pudding was especially delicious, and the coffee was good too (although I would have preferred a proper cup or mug to the paper one).
It was a very friendly and pleasant retreat from the November chill, and it’s well worth popping in for a cuppa if you’re in the area.
