To celebrate the official launch of BrixtonBuzz – a fab free new Brixton listings site – we’re putting on a massive party at the Prince Albert in Brixton – and you’re all invited!
The new site is a collaboration between me and Rich (from NearToHear) and was born out of a frustration of not knowing what was going on in our favourite town.
We were also getting aggrieved by the way that most of the media only seemed interested in promoting trendy ‘nu-Brixton’ events, so we wanted to do our bit to ensure that the smaller venues, bands and club nights got the exposure they deserved too: so BrixtonBuzz was devised!
It’s going to be one hell of a party!
To make sure the launch goes off with a bang, we’ve got a ton of thunderous samba drummers in the shape of Brazilian/East London SAMBATAGE plus the incredible RUBBALIPS beatboxing.
We’ll also have the usual line up of DJs laying down floor-filling shovelfuls of ska, punk, dance, big band, indie and Tom’n’Kylie plus street photo slideshows and more. And it’s FREE all night!
The party’s on Friday 2nd March at the Prince Albert, 418 Coldharbour Lane, Brixton, London SW9 8LF [map] – check out the Offline Club website or the Facebook event for more details.
Hope to see you there – and if you can’t wait that long to party, we’ve got another big night on this Friday with a fantastic Balkan gypsy ska band all the way from Austria, Roy De Roy!
