Here’s the second of four photo features from this year’s Green Gathering festival, which is set on a verdant hilltop in Chepstow, Wales.
This time I’m focusing on my favourite part of the festival, the 99% Bar which served booze at wonderfully cheap prices and had DJs spinning tunes till late.
Local brews at fabulously affordable prices! All proceeds go to the festival.
The DJ line up for Friday night. I was lucky enough to have an early evening slot.
Caroline played a fantastic all-vinyl set of rock and roll, Motown and Northern Soul.
I felt quite embarrassed following her with my cheapo laptop (if I’d known there was going to be decks there I would have brought my CDs!).
The landlady!
There was plenty of familiar Brixton faces in the bar, giving it something of an urban feel!
The DJ set up was behind the bar, so a fresh beer was always mere seconds away.
DJ Sharon from Bashy Beats.
There was Bashy Beats people everywhere!
Jeanie Tee from Bashy Beats in action.
Giving it large behind the bar.
There was a big wood fire outside the bar at night.
Old chums.
DJ Jamrock kept the drum and bass on maximum till close.
Knittin’n’drinkin’.
Getting in the last dance.
I love seeing these protest banners in the bar – here’s how they looked in the morning.
