High resolution footage shows the descent of NASA’s Curiosity rover on to the surface of Mars

This incredible movie from NASA’s Curiosity rover shows most of the high-resolution frames acquired by the Mars Descent Imager as it headed towards the surface of Mars.

The stop-frame video shows the jettisoning of the heat shield followed by the triumphant and touchdown.

I love this shit!
