Since I’ve walked around every single park within a three mile radius of my Brixton home, l thought it was time to venture further afield, and dust off my Dahon folding bike and do some night cycling as my daily lockdown exercise.
My first trip saw me heading off for a quick ten mile midnight ride into the centre of London and back, via London Bridge, Blackfriars, Waterloo and Vauxhall, pausing briefly to grab a few photos from my journey:
Behold! The rarely never spinning turbines of the Strata Tower by the Elephant & Castle.
Crossing London Bridge. I barely saw any traffic all night, so it was wonderfully quiet.
London is beautiful at night, and as I crossed the river, I could hear the midnight bells of a nearby church.
My wheels o’steel on Southwark bridge, with the illuminated Shard behind.
Symphony in blue. Blackfriars bridge with its solar-powered station that straddles both sides of the Thames.
Oxo tower in the distance.
Hungerford Bridge.
Another look at the splendid Tate Britain light installation celebrating Diwali. The place was completely deserted.
