Yesterday, we attended the launch of Marilyn: The Exhibition in the arches in London Bridge and found ourselves captivated by the rare insights into one of the world’s most famous women.
Including shoes, love letters, satin robes, glamourous outfits, make-up and accessories, this meticulously curated collection of 250 objects comes from the exclusive private collection of Ted Stampfer, the world’s largest collector of Marilyn Monroe’s historical objects.
In between the glamour we learnt about Norma Jean’s struggles, with her mother sent to a mental asylum when she was young and how she would suffer three miscarriages in later life.
There were sine incredible artefacts on display.
Her famous sunglasses.
A lookalike actress recreated one of Marilyn’s famous film scenes.
