Yesterday, we took a short, three mile stroll alongside the River Thames from Hampton Court to Kingston.
We started the journey from Hampton Court station, which is a short hop from Waterloo or Vauxhall stations in central London.
Heading north across Hampton Court Bridge to pick up the river walk.
The autumn colours were magnificent.
The walk takes you past the historic Hampton Court Palace.
Building of the palace began in 1515 for Cardinal Thomas Wolsey, and the grounds include gardens, a popular maze and an historic tennis court.
Thames Ditton Island.
Looks like this boat won’t be cruising up the Thames again.
Elaborate gates guarding the palace.
We barely saw a soul on the entire walk.
Rowing crews practicing.
Walking into Kingston.
