The Monochrome Set were back recording in the BBC’s wonderful studios in Maida Vale, west London yesterday.
I first visited the studios back in September 2016, where we performed in the cavernous Studio MV3. This time we were in the rather more intimate Studio MV4.
I wrote at length about the history of the BBC’s Maida Vale studios in the previous photo article, but since then plans have been announced to close the iconic complex and relocate to Olympic Park in Stratford. Although 2022 was originally cited as the date for the move, we were told that it might take up to five years.

We sneaked a peek in Studio MV1, one of the largest recording spaces available in the UK.
Equipped with a Studer D950 digital desk, MV1 is currently home to the BBC Symphony Orchestra.
I had a quick look around the equipment room in MV3.
