Lewes is poorly served when it comes to late night bars – most people bugger off to nearby Brighton – so we were happy to find that the Volunteer in Eastgate Street stays open till 1am on Saturday nights.
Known locally as ‘The Volly‘ a few people had suggested that things can get a bit rough there, but we found everyone super friendly, and loved the relentless energy of BANTZ n BASS, who laid down an uplifting mix of garage and drum’n’bass all night.
Some of the dancefloor movements were a little unusual but all good fun.
It was great to be able to grab a pint of the local brew, which is delicious,
