On Sunday we went along for the inaugural walk along Section 11 of the London Green Chain walk, starting at Nunhead cemetery through to Crystal Palace park.
A fair-sized mob of green-cap-toting folks turned up for the ribbon-cutting at Nunhead, but being fast walkers, we decided to accelerate ahead of the main pack.
The walk takes in no less than two cemeteries and a crematorium and you get to see the ‘Oak of Honor’ which lent its name to – you guessed it – the area of Honor Oak in south London.
Disused railway tunnel on the Sydenham to Crystal Palace line.
The walk ended at Crystal Palace, making it a pleasant 5.5 mile saunter.
