“Here comes the rain.. Here she comes again…I love the rain” sang The Cult, and with London regularly being doused in the stuff, it’s no surprise that so many artists choose to sing about it.
Like the leather-clad, stage-strutting rocker, I’m rather keen on the stuff too, so here’s a random sextet of rainy London views.
[Tottenham Court Road gets a summer rainstorm]
[Pedestrians take a splashing from a passing car, Coldharbour Lane, Brixton]
[Dashing home, Coldharbour Lane, Brixton]
[Tottenham Court Road shower]
The final shot – rather appropriately – was taken outside James Smith and Sons Umbrella Shop on New Oxford Street.
The store was founded in 1830 and is still owned and run as a family business.
Those first two are extraordinarily beautiful – thanks.
