It was great to see my old mates The Monochrome Set playing last night at the fabulous London Popfest, the 100 Club, London.
Popfest takes place over four days across several London venues, and the venue was packed for the Monochrome Set’s show.
Spot Lester Square’s quality pipe!
It was a pleasure seeing the Monochromes again – what keeps them interesting is, of course, the great songs, but also the quirky musicianship, the genre-hopping styles and the sense of humour in the band – the charismatic Bid spent most of the gig looking thoroughly bemused by affairs.
I loved it! They’re swanning off on some mega European/japanese tour but they’ll be back in London for a show at Dingwalls on the 12th June. I’ll see you there!
