Currently on display inside the swishy environs of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) offices in London is an exhibition showing off the proposed designs for the forthcoming Elizabeth Line (Crossrail).
The free exhibition in RIBA’s offices in Great Portland Street has details of the new cross-London line which will link 40 stations through London and the south east, between Reading and Shenfield.
Crossrail says that every station will have a “distinct character” to echo the heritage of the surrounding areas, with the small exhibition revealing various aspects of the design process, including models, mocks ups, early drawings and physical objects.
All of new stations will be free of steps from the train to the street, with the first section of the route due to open in December 2018.
