Whenever I’m in New York, I always take a walk through the Union Square farmers’ market where there’s plenty of fresh fruit, veg and snacks to be bought.
The market is open around the year on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 8am to 6pm, and is joined by the Holiday Market in the run up to Christmas, which serves up a feast of suitably festive themed gifts.
Santa hat at the jam stall.
There’s always artwork for sale around the side of the market.
Lovely fresh carrots!
I particularly like their cider which is, of course, nothing like UK cider, being dark brown and (bah!) non alcoholic.
More of those lovely carrots!
Farmers’ fare.
This outdoor bookshop was opposite the entrance to the Barnes & Noble store. The sign asks potential customers to “help me take this business online.”
Another jam stall.
