Pic of the day: stormy afternoon by 2nd Avenue subway station, NYC

I like this near-monochrome image of a rain-lashed, winter’s late afternoon by Second Avenue subway station in New York City.

There’s so little colour in this second image that it looks like it’s a black and white image where I’ve applied a ‘selective colour’ effect to the green globe lamp.

I should point out that no filters were used at all – and I’ll never indulge in that  kind of cheesy Photoshoppery!
