There was a fine collection of roses and artistic floral arrangements to be seen in the Roses & Floristry Vintage Festival in the Escape Zone at this year’s RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show.
The 1950s-themed festival included talks by rose experts, displays from specialist growers and the official launch of Rose of the Year 2014 – Lady Marmalade (‘Hartiger’), from Harkness Roses (as pictured above).
In keeping with the retro theme, talks and demonstrations took place on the platform of the theatre’s 1950s-themed railway station.
A vintage floral dinner!
Vintage ladies.
Display by Merrist Wood College.
This vintage living room display by the City Of Bath college was by far my favourite. It was wonderfully imaginative.
Applying the finishing touches before the clipboard-wielding judges came around on their rounds.
‘Rock around the clock’ by Writtle College.
Loved the station!
I’ll be posting more photos from the rest of the show later.
