Offering a huge selection of books, this magnificent bookshop can be found on Marylebone High Street, central London.
Featuring long oak galleries and big skylights letting natural light flood in, the bookshop exudes original Edwardian charm and is a delight to browse.
The book store specialises in travel, with the shelves stacked geographically.
The gallery upstairs covers the UK, while the basement was stuffed full of guides, phrase books, travel writing, history and fiction about America, Africa, Asia and Australasia.
We found the staff friendly enough on our visit so I can only assume that they’d cheered up since Mary Portas dismissed them a, “sour-faced” while enthusing about “the perfect selection [of books] in a beautiful environment.”

There are also branches of Daunt Books in Chelsea, Holland Park, Cheapside, Hampstead and Belsize Park, but this is my favourite.
The next time I am in London, Daunt’s Bookstore will be # 1 on my must-see list. This is my idea of what a real book seller’s establishment should be!
