Watch the weird and mesmerising flickering street lights of Rome

Walking through the streets of the Monti District in Rome late last week, we came across the unusual sight of street lamps flickering on and off in a seemingly random fashion.

The effect was both magical and disorientating, as the streets pulsed in bursts of light and darkness. Here’s some videos of what we saw:
