I spotted these bizarre 11 foot high statues of the Queen and Prince Philip parked outside Marco Polo House, the London headquarters of the QVC television shopping channel in Battersea.
Commissioned by QVC and created to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee anniversary, each terracotta giant head weighs more than half a tonne and took a team of sculptors more than two months to make.
The Queen’s bonce contains around 50 different varieties of flowers including geraniums, hydrangeas and freesias, while the Prince has to do with a bit of grass in a Bobby Charlton style.
The pots were apparently carted around Buckingham Palace and other iconic London landmarks in March 2012, and are due to be presented to the royal couple in June.
And I bet they’ll be really pleased with them too*.
