Mayall Road and Chaucer Road street parties
We check out two free neighbourly events

After lying dormant for six years, the Mayall Road Street Party returned as part of the Big Lunch initiative.
Mayall Road contains over 200 residences with approximately 150 children, and the street party was billed as 'celebration of our children' and a day to show pride in their neighbourhood.
We popped in our way to the Lambeth Country Show to enjoy a refreshing glass of Pimms (cheers Neil and Lesley!) before moving on to the fearsome Chucklehead Cider at the show in Brockwell Park.
The Fire Brigade came out to add a bit of interest to proceedings. Doesn't the street look more welcoming without lines of cars? (see view below from the daty before the party).
Lashings of bunting, cunningly made from recycled plastic bags.
A photo display of previous street parties.
At nearby Chaucer Road was the Poets' Corner street party, with the street blocked off by an expertly positioned bus.
