Dover Mansions, Brixton

This run down and squatted mansion block was once home to the Henry Havelock Ellis, an early pioneer in scientific sex who lived there from 1893 to 1919.

Ellis was the son of a Sea Captain and a supporter of sexual liberation and his books were banned for many years.
