'I hope we never die'
A bench in the secluded garden of Brockwell Park bears the following enigmatic message:

In memory of Matthew Shenstone 1965-1996
From his family and friends
I hope we never die
Do you think there is any chance of it?

Someof the benches here commemorate young AIDS victims which makes the message all the more poignant.
