View from the Bob Bank
Cardiff 1 Plymouth Argyle 0, December 28th 2008
As the clock ticks before Ninian Park closes for good and we move across the road to our shiny new home, we took a few snaps from high up in the Bob Bank.
The last time we were here was so long ago that it was all-standing, but even with seats in place and an Arctic wind howling through the stanchions, we're going to miss the old rattly stand.
Walking into Fortress Ninian with the Grandstand to the right.
Heading towards the Bob Bank entrance, with the Canton Stand on the right.
View from the back of the Bob Bank, looking down over a near-capacity 19,125 crowd. It doesn't seem that long ago that we'd struggle to get 3,500!
Plymouth have a little cuddle before kick off.
Plymouth on the attack. Notice the rather wobbly looking TV platform above.
It took the full camera zoom to get this shot without the view being obscured by a hefty stanchion. I love the Bob Bank, but I won't miss having to crane my neck around girders to see the action!
Half time in the Bob Bank Village (or whatever daft name they've given it).
It's not the most comfortable of places to enjoy a pint and a pasty - in fact, it was chuffing freezing today - but a few years ago it was impossible to get a pint on the Bob Bank, so I'm not complaining!
I'm going to miss the big 'old school' floodlights of Ninian which are visible for miles around.
Throw in for Cardiff.
City score!
The Bob Bank in full song.
The minutes are ticking away.
Game over. Cardiff City 1 Plymouth Argyle 0. Nice!
A last look across Ninian Park.
