Cardiff finally get over the curse of Selhurst Park and beat Palace on their own turf to go six points clear at the top of the Championship. It's like being on drugs! Comment from Placid Casual27 "It was my birthday what a stunning way to celebrate it, first win there in 30 years and City again just keep on playing with ultimate collective belief, togetherness, amazing fitness levels - see Scimeca following in for the rebound from Chopra's post-hitter, whereas back in the day City midfield chuggers would have been standing in the centre circle hands on hips having a fag and a pint that late in the game. That's what I'm loving about this, the best City side in my lifetime, they just keep going and going, Chopra is surely the bargain of the decade in this league, Thompson works his arse off, Riccy and McPhail in midfield doing all the ugly stuff brilliantly (and 3 goals in 3 games for Scimeca) Purse and the imperious Loovens at centre half, even Chambers in on loan was great, not least as it enabled the system to stay the same. My one tiny worry (apart from small squad) is Kerrea Gilbert positionally - gets forward well and is fast but too often stranded upfield. But that's only cos I'm really searching for a problem, whereas usually we're used to searching desperately for a single good thing to say Beautiful day, awesome noise in the away end What's That Coming Over The Hill It's Michael Chopra, It's Michael Chopra. I salute them one and all, bring on Saints, and Norwich, and the lot of them" 1927 Club meet up at The Ship. It's a good real ale boozer but the service was indescribably slooooow. Sort it out fellas! City coaches outside the ground. The City turn out was *huge* - over 2,100 fans. Yeah, right! City fans in fine voice. Goal! Michael Chopra volleyed a beaut into the top left corner with just two minutes on the clock! Celebrations. It was a cracking day, with a low Autumnal sun casting long shadows on the pitch. Stuart Green pulls one back for Palace level just before half-time. Half time antics, with the same daft, US-style, prancing pom-pom girls. The area behind the stands became dangerously packed during half time. He's on the ale! Cardiff put on the pressure in the second half, but it was end to end stuff all afternoon. Chopra slams a shot that bounces off the post straight to Scimeca who knocks it home! 2-1 to City! More celebrations. Woohoo! Waving goodbye to the Palace fans (why do people leave when there's still a few minutes to play?!). Heading home. Next stop: the pub!
