This was a cracking, hard fought match, and the result could have gone either way.
There was a good rapport between the fans too, like a *proper* game of football - credit is due to the home fans who sang at least five times more than Chelsea.
In fact, it felt like an old Division Three game, and was all the better for it - loads of room, everyone standing, everyone singing, some decent banter and no stroppy stewards in your face.
Mind you, it was a shame about the awful music that blasted out when Palace scored (stop that now - it's British football not Yankee Football), but the rest was all good.
Unlike last year's rather more brutal encounter, it was okayed in a good competitive spirit too, and there was an especially nice touch when a City player helped a Palace player stretch his leg after he fell down with cramp.
A quick 'respect' to the Palace staff too: they were friendly and polite throughout.
Here's some photos from the day (Read BBC match report here.
The usual daft procession of mascots begins.
And another one...
The game starts.
Cardiff work a cunning corner.
....and score. 1-0!
Palace attack.
Palace get all web2.0.
Rain storms ahead.
City attack, but it stays at 1-0 at half time.
Half time.
Hill pulled one back for Palace on 58 minutes but Burke slammed in a beaut nine minutes later to give Cardiff the win
Full time. A great City win.
Waving goodbye to the Palace fans.
I love these old fashioned wooden seats.
