League Cup, 16th August, 1995
It's a rare treat to enjoy a few quiet spliffs by the seaside and then go on to
watch the mighty Cardiff crush a team two divisions above them, so we
particularly enjoyed the Portsmouth game.
After a delightful day drinking and swimming in Southsea,
we joined several nutters dressed in snorkels and masks on the
terraces, while a glorious sunset illuminated the Mighty
Blues dynamite performance on the field.
A few of the more boisterous members of the crowd recalled the fate of
the Portsmouth clock from a previous encounter, while we began
to talk about this being the start of something special.
Sadly all hopes of this being the dawn of a super season soon
crumbled into dust a few games later....
