A depressing day in 1997



Just look at it! - I mean, what a dump!

Despite Cardiff having a stadium that dwarfs this half-built pigpen and a catchment area that could easily support a major team, it seems that we're destined to trudge around these third-rate hovels until something is done to wake up the (ahem) 'sleeping giant'.

Truth is, its been asleep so long its going to take one hell of a waking up, and it's this tragic waste that angers so many City fans.



Whenever I hear some Premier League supporter whingeing away about how tough it is to see their team losing I feel like making them travel out to a bleak shithole like this, and then telling me what defeat tastes like.

Because I know all about it. We lost 1-0. Ouch!

Note to Rochdale fans: this isn't a go at your club. I know that the ground's since been refurbished but I wanted to document the kind of miserable, bleak days that awaydays in the Third can deal out. This was one.
