Now in its sixth year and unlikely to be dislodged as urban75's unofficial Festival Of The Year, the Endorse-it in-Dorset music festival takes place in the Dorset countryside, close to the tiny village of Sixpenny Handley in Cranborne Chase.
Starting life as a birthday party in a barn, the festival remains delightfully free of evil corporate sponsorship and is perfectly scaled for a great weekend of fun. We had a great time!
We bump into
the 'Rambo' crew at a service station stop off. The service station was packed with junior squaddies so it looked like we'd stepped into some sort of weird mini war.
Arriving on site.
Although the weather was glorious, it had really pissed down the night before and left the entrance to the camp site hideously muddy - so campers were being driven in by tractor-bus!
There was quite a queue when we arrived.
Campers loading up on to their transport.
All the vehicles had to be dragged on site by hefty tractors.
There's a PieFace under there somewhere!
Raising the urban flag.
Fellow campers get stuck in.
The fully assembled flag in all its glory.
Heading off to the main arena.
The less said about the 'comedy' the better.
The Strummerville stage - by far our favourite part of the festival.
Full moon over the festival.
The omni-present Joe Bananas tent.
Pronghorn on stage. Presumably in response to last year's awful weather, the main stage was in a tent this year. The sound was great, but I missed dancing around to bands in a big open field.
Back on the Strummerville stage, Beans On Toast put in one of the performances of the festival.
Strummerville camp fire.
Arena view.
The newlyweds!
