Monday, August 10, 2009Endorse It Festival 2009 delivers!Just got back from a fantastic weekend at the Endorse It Festival. In Dorset. See what they did there? Thursday, August 14, 2008Endorse It in Dorset: Sunday
Photos from the last day at my favourite festival.
We had a mad party at the campside (don't ask!) before hitting the arena to watch punk rock karaoke, drink more and then groove to the excellent Alabama3. It was a great end to the festie. We'll be back next year. Labels: endorse it, festivals Link Tuesday, August 12, 2008Endorse it in Dorset Festival - Saturday
Saturday was a hideous rainy monsoon of a wash out.
The rain fell so hard that our gazebo failed miserably, so we had to huddle under the small awning by one of the camping cans and sup cider until we felt suitably empowered to brave the rain and wind. But party we did! Labels: endorse it, festivals Link Endorse it in Dorset Festival, 2008
Now in its fifth year and already established as urban75's unofficial Festival Of The Year, the Endorse-it in-Dorset music festival takes place in the Dorset countryside, not far from the tiny village of Sixpenny Handley in Cranborne Chase.
The festival started life as a birthday party in a barn, inspiring the members of the band Pronghorn to start up their own festival, growing from a one day event of 750 capacity, to a three day festival of 5000. Delightfully free of evil corporate sponsorship - and all the other bollocks that goes with most festivals these days - we had a great time. Here's some photos from Friday. More here. I haven;t got around to posting up captions, but at least the pretty pictures are up from the Indietracks festival at the end of last month.
There's no less than five pages' worth now uploaded: Friday, Saturday, Saturday (part 2), Sunday and Sunday (part 2). Here's a selection. Labels: festivals, Inditracks Tuesday, July 29, 2008Indietracks 2008
Steam trains, stations, late night singalongs in railway carriages, indie bands, Los Campesinos, real ale and blazing sun all weekend = 100% win!

It's a lovely little festival with a great vibe, lovely people, top bands and a real old-school attitude which means no corporate bollocks. And after the horrors of Glastonbury, it was great to spend a weekend free of mud and rain.
