London Rollergirls Sock Hop
An evening at the Bloomsbury Bowling Lanes

Situated in the basement under the Tavistock Hotel on Bedford Way by Russell Square, the Bloomsbury Bowling Lanes offer 8 classic bowling lanes plus food and drinks.
Since opening in 2005, the venue has been hosting regular events including live bands, DJs, club nights and the inevitable corporate shindigs.
As well as the bowling lanes there's also a small cinema, bar, diner and - shudder - Private Karaoke rooms (which we pretended not to notice).
We paid the venue a visit for the September Sock Hop hosted by the London Rollergirls and had great fun.
Kitschenette from the Actionettes gives it her best shot.
A view across the eight bowling lanes.
In the diner.
A couple of Actionettes.
Although it's been newly built, there's a lot of authentic touches inside, including a bar made from old bowling lanes wood and a vintage 1950's carpet, which had been unearthed after spending 40 years.
Where's his leg gone?!
Miss Aloha and the Reverend Boogie (of Hula Boogie at the South London Pacific) gave jive dance lessons.
Roller dance action!
Looking down the bowling lanes.
Enjoying a raspberry beer.
Posing on the bowling lane.
Twister tournament.
Going for the strike (or whatever the bowling phrase is).
Jive dancing.
Last dance before we had to hotfoot it out to catch the last tube home.
