Offline party, Brixton Prince Albert
Saturday 2nd May 2009
The second night of our May Bank Holiday special saw a terrific bill with the hilarious Mr B The Gentleman Rhymer and the superb post-punksters, I, Ludicrous.
The fantastic Mr B who had the crowd in stitches with the hip-hop hardcore joyously singing along.
"Let me smoke my pipe!"
The brilliant I, Ludicrous. Their new single, "We're the support band" is genius!.
DJs Lang and Lopez from the fabulous Actionettes.
(Apologies for the absence of the usual late-night dancefloor shots - I had to go home early on account of a hideous illness. However, the party rocked on till 3am, with the Actionettes doing a fantastic job on the decks!)

Part two of our Mayday double header sees a tasty double bill of anarchic humour, football songs and punk rock shenanigans with Mark E Smith favourites I, LUDICROUS and chap-hop pioneer, MR B THE GENTLEMAN RHYMER, the 'baddest Edwardian' in the music scene today. We'll also have the usual crew of hard drinking Offline DJs on hand to serve up obscure 50s hits, ska, punk rock classics, with video projections and slideshows.
LIVE BANDS:
I, LUDICROUS
As featured in the late, great John Peel's Festive Fifty, and fresh from recently supporting The Fall on tour, we're delighted to welcome I, Ludicrous to Offline. Like a drunken terrace clash of Art Brut, Half Man Half Biscuit and a Cantona scissors-kick, the band knock out consistently funny, unpretentious and tuneful songs that'll have you grinning from ear to ear.
"arch satirists led by a razor sharp lyricist...like The Streets set to post punk music."
