OFFLINE 02: Brixton Ritzy, Sat 13th March, 2004
Photos from the night:
The Editor playing his 45 minutes of post punk 45s. Songs included: Rezillos: Motor Bike Beat, Bob Marley: Punky Reggae Party, Dexys: Plan B, Jags: Back of my hand, Costello: Accidents will happen, Althia and Donna: Uptown Top Ranking and Specials: Rat Race.
Stepping into the DJ booth at Offline naturally brings instant fame, with persistent paparazzi crowding around the decks.
Here's the incredibly complex piece of electronics that the DJs have to master. As you can see, DJing is not a task for mere mortals - being able to move that one big slider from side to side while pressing 'play' takes years of dedicated practice.
Dubversion at the decks. He's either drinking from a girlie sized glass or pretending to have a mic in his hand.
One man, three hands. Dubversion reveals the secret of his quick-fire DJing technique. His set of 'cheesy covers' included, Corduroy: Motorhead, Pat Satchmo: Hello Dolly, The Bad Livers: Lust For Life, Senor Coconut: Tour De France, Schneider TM: The Light 3000 and The Fall: Lost In Music.
Rambunctious elements of the crowd at Offline
'Kitschenette' from The Actionettes
Folks enjoying a hearty draught.
Some extremely 'invigorated' folks heartily bonding.
Yet more drinkers.
