OFFLINE2: Birkbeck College, London
Friday 7th October 2005
The event marked the start of a fortnightly residency for Offline2 (a sort of 'Son of Offline') at Birkbeck College, Malet Street, central London.
The night follows the same format as the usual Offline Brixton nights, and we had a full Cabaret set hosted by Vic Lambrusco with Ant the Rant and Sarah Dagger-Nickson, an acoustic set from Helen McCookeryBook and DJ sets from the Editor and Dubversion.
Admission was, as ever, free, the beer was cheap and we had a hoot!
See the front page for forthcoming dates.
We were playing on the Fresher's night, which meant that we had to grimace through what seemed like a never-ending Salsa lesson before we could get started.
Hip-shaking, gyrating salsa fans please note: we don't 'do' salsa at Offline, so keep your maracas at home.
Helen McCookeryBook put in a fine acoustic set.
DJ Dubversion consumes a full size 'SWP/Respect' poster.
Mixing it up on the dance floor.
Giving it large to some heavy ska.
Playing an imaginary piano.
Behind you!
The sign above the bar is presumably there in case drunk students:
(a) forget what club they're in and
(b) forget what city they're in
People who have taken advantage of the cheap, cheap bar prices.
Rock'n'roll!
