Place de la Concorde fountain

In the centre of this beautiful square stands a tall obelisk, framed by two fountains, inspired by the ones to be found in St-Peter's Square in Rome.

It may look pretty now, but the square has a dark and grisly history, with thousands of victims being guillotined here during the French Revolution.
